Arbatax, Ogliastra and its beaches
Discover the Ogliastra and its magnificent territory
Ogliastra, the most beautiful province in Italy
Welcome to Ogliastra, a land of magical beauty, situated on the east side of Sardinia. Ogliastra, the province stretching from the summits of the Gennargentu to the Tyrrhenian sea, is one of Sardinia’s most charming areas. The region is called as an anphitheatre on the sea with natural monuments, uncontaminated beaches, itineraries for trekking, mountain bike and climbing.
The beaches of Tortolì and Arbatax
Arbatax is located between wild cliffs, completely surrounded by small and discreet coves where peace and tranquillity reign supreme. These are ideal places to spend relaxing moments, surrounded by nature and the beautiful blue sea of Sardinia. Do not miss: The Red Rocks, Tower of San Miguel, Tower of San Gemiliano, La Peschiera
Reachable by car in a few minutes, or with the “Taxi Boat” available from the beach of the Hotel Club Saraceno, here are the most beautiful beaches in our area: La Capannina, Porto Frailis, San Gemiliano, Basàura, Lido di Orrì (also reachable by taxi boat), Foxilioni, Il Golfetto.
The Gulf of Orosei
Are there uncontaminated beaches in the Mediterranean Sea? Are there dream places even far from Caribbean Sea? Of course there are and you can find them at your fingertips here in Sardinia! The Gulf of Orosei is probably the most fascinating area of the Island and it is ready to offer you all its splendour and all the colours, scents and sensations that only few beaches in the world can boast.
I Tacchi d’Ogliastra
The „Tacchi“ are dolomitic limestone outcrops, so called because they resemble a shoe heel; among them Perda Liana is the most famous representative. They extend in an area of about 28 square kilometres that belong to the municipalities of Jerzu, Ulassai, Osini, Gairo and Ussassai. The territory includes over heel in Monte Tisiddu, Mount Arquerì, the Taccu Arba Ussassai, Mount Lumburau, the Taccu Anguil’e Ferru and Punta Corongiu Jerzu.
Do not miss: Ulassai (Museum „The Art Station“ with the works of Maria Lai and the caves „Su Marmuri“), Perda Liana, Jerzu (the winery „Antichi Poderi“).
Golgo Plateau
The Golgo Plateau is located about 30 kilometres from the hotel, in the Supramonte of Baunei. A true natural and archaeological park full of natural monuments and relics from the past.
A wide plateau surrounded by mountains where you can find the deepest chasm in Europe (270 meters) „Su Sterru“, the typical nuraghes, the „lytic face“, the white church of San Pietro, the ancient natural ponds „As piscinas“ and where you can walk among donkeys, horses, goats and other animals in the wild. From the plateau it is also possible to reach by foot the beautiful Cala Goloritzé (4 km. approximately).
Trip along the coast by rubber boat
Aboard on a fast rubber boat you will visit one of the most beautiful and wildest part of the whole Island. Two or three stops in the white coves of the Orosei Gulf with the possibility to plunge into the crystal clear waters of Sardinia. Departure in the morning and return at lunch time.
