The city of Alghero is situated in the north west of Sardinia, and can be reached by air.
THE ROUTE
Leaving the airport, you must
follow the road signs for Sassari, until you reach a turning where there is a
road sign indicating ‘Sassari 4 Corsie’ (Sassari 4 Lanes), now, follow these
signs to get onto the new dual carriageway which links the two cities.
At the outskirts of Sassari, at the slip road onto the dual carriageway S.S.(main
road) 131 Carlo Felice, you must turn right in the direction of Cagliari.
After about 50 km (31 miles), you will arrive close to the town of Macomer. The
S.S. (main road) 131 runs along the edge of the town and, at the beginning of a
long downhill slope, you must take the turning to Nuoro. Please be careful and
slow down once you get close to the cross roads, as it is placed in a dangerous
position on a bend.
Once you have arrived at the outskirts of Nuoro, you must follow the road signs
for Lanusei, and drive for about 70 km (44 miles) along the new dual carriageway.
At the end of the dual carriageway, after just having passed the built up area
of Villanova Strisaili, you must turn left in the direction of Villagrande
Strisaili, driving beside the woodlands of Santa Barbara and following the road
signs for Tortolì/Arbatax, you will arrive at your destination.
